DOWNING ESTATE NORTH WALES
Freehold

Downing is a special and unique estate of history, mystery and magical beauty. Peaceful setting yet only approximately 20 miles from Chester. The remains of Downing Estate are approximately 26 acres. The famous and highly acclaimed Thomas Pennant, antiquarian, explorer and natural historian was born at Downing Hall in 1726, he lived on his then vast estate. Many famous people visited Downing including Joseph Banks.

In 1922, Downing Hall suffered severe fire damage. In 1953, the shell of this amazing hall was dynamited, still leaving the interesting remains of walls above ground and the fascinating cellars below.

It wants someone with positive vision to restore or bring some kind of life to the lonely old hall waiting for that special someone. If I was twenty years younger, it would be me!
